I'm not exactly sure what this is... I suspect it is graffiti art--it is a visually striking marking. Interestingly, although it has been there for a year or so, graffiti removal contractors have chosen not to remove it (even though they are highly active in this area--"street" graffiti and politically motivated graffiti is quickly covered over with house paint). This example is located about 250m south of the Sunnyside LRT station, beside the railway tracks.
