In 2010 the following two markings were on the footpath on Kelburn Parade. After undertaking a search on the internet I discovered that "Kids on Swings" was a clothes shop for children. I actually found the proprietor boasting on Facebook that they were initially concerned that the authorities would complain about the stencils and potentially prosecute them for engaging in graffiti. However, to the proprietor's surprise, nobody complained, probably because they did not seem to equate the stencils with illegal graffiti (but instead saw it as 'advertising'). Thus, although the adverts were clearly visible, they were also, as far as graffiti is concerned, invisible--thus, invisible graffiti. This outcome emboldened the proprietor and they then spray painted the stencil on the outside brick walls on some university auditoriums/lecture theatres.
